Our guest lecturer, Maria Andrea Nardi, is a PhD student from the Human Geography department, now a lecturer in the LUMID and BIDS programmes. She is also a guest researcher in the Centre for Latin American Studies in the University of Copenhagen.

Maria Andrea will talk about the territorial changes occurring in rural areas during the last decades in the province of Misiones. The talk will focus on the diverse strategies conducted by farmers’ organizations, NGOs and the state in order to foster food production and nature conservation. The emerging discourses and practices show that it is imperative to introduce new ways of doing agriculture and using the rainforest.
