The work includes administration, communication, events, labour market matters and recruitment. The board also has employer responsibility for the fulltimers, which means they have the obligation to monitor their wellbeing and create a healthy work environment. The primary task of the board is to follow through on the Action Plan, which is decided upon each year by the Representative Assembly. Other than this, the board also works with the student union’s recurring events and commitments. The board is responsible before the Representative Assembly and works preparatory with matters brought before the RA. Furthermore, the board decides upon the student union’s guidelines, by-elects student representatives at a department level, decides on project plans and evaluates the operations of the student union. It also supports the fulltimers with everyday tasks such as drop-in-hours. The board meets every two weeks, and in smaller working groups in-between board meetings.
The mandate and responsibilites of the board is regulated in the statutes of the student union (§5) and in the by-laws, chapter 3. You can find the statutes and the by-laws along with other steering documents here.
