As Presidial responsible fore General University Matters, you focus primarily on education policy at a university-wide level. In this position, you have close contact with other student unions and represent the Social Sciences Student union in the Lund University Student Unions Association (LUS). This means that, to many people, you will be the outward face of the student union. Representation is central to this position and therefore you need to continuously anchor your work within the student union, and then represent the student union’s opinions outward. Since this is a presidial position, you can also be elected as President of the Social Sciences Student Union.
You need to be diplomatic, cooperative and a responsive listener. It is important that you be comfortable with representing the Social Sciences Student Union. You need to be interested in and understand the education policy matters that affect social sciences students, and have the capacity to quickly process a lot of information. In order to be fit for the position, you need to have been an active member before, for example as a student representative.
High proficiency in Swedish and English is a requirement
- Experience of working in an organisation
- Experience of board work
- Formal writing skills
The application period is 24 March – 6 April 23:59. Note that the possibility to nominate someone else closes 31 March, 23:59. Your application should include both a CV and a personal letter.
Your personal letter should include the following: A short introduction of yourself and which position you are applying for; Relevant previous experience; Why you are applying; Your visions for the student union.
