Remunerated positions

Faculty Board

  • 1 Ordinary

The Faculty Board is the decision-making and drafting body for first, second and third cycle education conducted at the faculty. The board has a forward-looking approach and identifies long-term goals and visions for the faculty.

The position of student representative in the Faculty Board is remunderated by the Faculty with 7000 SEK per year, and 1100 SEK per meeting. The elected student representative serves on the Faculty Board alongside the Presidial responsible for General Faculty Matters.

Education Board

  • 1 Ordinary

The Education Board works to maintain a high standard of quality in education and other education-related activities at the faculty. It is composed of all Directors of Studies at the Faculty.

The position of student representative in the Education Board is remunderated by the Faculty with 5500 SEK per year, and 1100 SEK per meeting. The elected student representative serves on the Education Board alongside the Presidial responsible for General University Matters.

Academic Appointments Board

  • 1 Ordinary
  • 1 Alternate

The Academic Appointments Board prepares matters and submits proposals for appointments of professors, adjunct professors, visiting professors, senior lecturers and associate senior lecturers.

The position of student representative in the Academic Appointments Board is remunderated by the Faculty with 5000 SEK per year, and 1100 SEK per meeting. The Alternate is remunderated with 1100 SEK per meeting that it needs to attend.

Other positions

Council for Pedagogy in Higher Education

  • 1 Ordinary

The Council for Pedagogy in Higher Education assesses teachers’ applications for pedagogical merit and
proposes to the Faculty Board which applicants are to be appointed as qualified or excellent teachers. It also follows up on and develops the faculty’s pedagogical initiatives in relation to internal faculty needs and needs related to changes in the outside world.

Course Syllabus Committee

  • 1 Ordinary

The faculty’s Course Syllabus Committee helps the departments in their work to ensure that first- and second-cycle syllabi are of good quality. The committee acts as support both in the development of new course and programme syllabi and in the revision of existing syllabi.

The elected student representative serves in the group alongside the Presidial responsible for General University Matters.

Gender Equality and Equal Opportunities Committee

  • 1 Ordinary

The Gender Equality and Equal Opportunities Committee’s task is to run and follow up on gender equality and equal opportunities work within the faculty, based on the University’s policies and plans.

The elected student representative serves on the committee alongside the Presidial responsible for Student Welfare Matters.

Quality Assurance Group for Education and Research

  • 1 Ordinary

The group focuses on quality issues in research and first, second and third-cycle education.

The elected student representative serves in the group alongside the Presidial responsible for General University Matters.

Library Matters Representative

  • 1 Ordinary

The Library Matters Representative participates in meetings with different organs where the Faculty of Social Sciences’ library services are discussed. This includes a once-per-term meeting with the Council of Heads of Department, and participating in the faculty’s quality dialogue with the library.
